How to Use Your Moisture Meter Insert the probe ½ to ¾ of the way into your plant's soil without touching the bottom. Adjust until the dial settles, then read your moisture zone. Maintenance Remove and wipe the meter clean after each use. Never submerge in water, as this can damage the device. Watering Guide by Plant Type Red Zone (1-3) - Drought-tolerant plants: Agave, Aloe, Cacti, Donkey's Tail, Dracaena, Euphorbia, Fiddle Leaf Fig, Jade Plant, Kalanchoe, Peperomia, Pilea, Snake Plant, Succulents, ZZ Plant Green Zone (4-5) - Moderate moisture lovers: Aglaonema, Bird of Paradise, Calathea, Dieffenbachia, Epipremnum, Hoya, Monstera, Palms, Philodendron, Rubber Trees, Spider Plant, Stromanthe, Umbrella Plants Blue Zone (6-10).
